NGOs miss Right to Housing in European Territorial Strategy

Habitat International Coalition (HIC), the "Habitat Working Group at German NGO Forum Environment and Development" as well as the "Ruhr Tenants Forum" have criticized that housing is not an issue at the agenda of the German EU council presidency. "There is no sustainable urban development without right to housing", NGOs say.

Include the Right to Housing into the EU territorial strategy and the Leipzig Charter !

Habitat International Coalition (HIC) called the German EU council presidency to include housing issues in the debates on the European territorial strategy; "We propose that the Leipzig Charter should reaffirm the human rights and, in this context, the right to housing", HIC wrote in a letter to the German minister Tiefensee.
